Just hit Lava Reef Zone and I gotta say that for all this game does right, some of the bosses really infuriate me for the wrong reasons.
Had the glitch been smoothed over, it would be a rather simple and interesting boss, but too much inexplicable nonsense makes it frustrating.So I'm going through Sonic Mania right now. Jump to safety, even if it means swimming away from center, don’t get greedy with arms damage as bullets are hard to dodge and instant death pitch is too difficult to avoid. Just real bullshit that no other boss in the game suffered.įound playing it slow and safe worked best. Not easy because you likely are jumping to dmg the tentacles that shoot bullets at you, which can even potentially bounce you back to the death area(again instant death without touching the platform). Again glitchy.īasically once those tentacles appear set to sink a platform, you need to be completely gone from that entire section before the pull comes. Wasn’t my case(and many others), it literally enacts the drowned death animation despite being safe in mid-air, and causes death. Some argue that they jump up and still drop into the ocean and are able to swim. It’s nonsensical, feels glitchy, and is what is responsible for 95% of my deaths. When it emerges and wraps its tentacles around a platform, even if you are in mid-air and not touching the grabbed section, you will be sucked down and die. It’s a neat boss that is marred by some glitches and some irritating instant death cheap oversights.
